La Sombra en la Oscuridad

[The Shadow Gets Lost in Darkness] is a musical monument to Medellín’s complexities in 2022. With Trafico MC and Collaborators.

EN: The Shadow gets lost in Darkness is an act of consensus. This piece is developed around a participatory and co-creation exercise between several actors that shape the social fabric of the city. With the help of hip hop singer and composer TRAFICO MC, several participants were invited to a song writing workshop where a new song was conceived. From a mother victim of the armed conflict, university students and young Venezuelan migrants, to the security and surveillance personnel of the city of Medellin, in this song the participants share their perspectives on fear, trust and security in the city. During the exhibition, the stage will be activated with performances by TRAFICO MC and other local artists. As a song, La Sombra En la OscurIdad se Pierde will be released into the public domain as a ‘musical monument’ celebrating the complex historical moment that Medellín is currently experiencing. Throughout the month of the exhibition the musical co-creation workshop continues in the Comuna of La Sierra and supported by a youth group coordinated by Jheny Duque and TRAFICO MC.
